OBVIOUSLY, WE CAME BACK TO SCHOOL A WEEK AGO AND IT WAS A GREAT START. I CANNOT THANK OUR FAMILIES, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. TRANSPORTATION AND ADMIN TEAMS. WE REALLY HAD THREE GET -- THREE GREAT DAYS LAST WEEK TO PICK UP THE SCHOOL YEAR.
BETWEEN ROAD CLOSURES AND CONES AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN HAMILTON COUNTY THIS SUMMER, WE GOT THEM THERE.
WE GOT STARTED. SO REALLY GREAT START.
ANOTHER ITEM WE HAVE, AND I THINK WE HAVE A SHORT VIDEO IS, WE ARE EXCITED AND WE WILL KICKOFF THE FOURTH COHORT OF THE HSE ENGAGED PROGRAM. IT HAS BECOME THE HALLMARK OF CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY TO THE HEART OF HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN SCHOOLS. SINCE IT STARTED IN 2021, HSE ENGAGED A PREDICAMENTS A BEHIND- THE-SCENES LOOK AT THE PEOPLE, PRIORITIES AND PROGRAMS THAT MAKE OUR PEOPLE EXCEPTIONAL.
TONIGHT WE ARE PROUD TO INTRODUCE THE 39 INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL JOIN THE RANKS OF OTHER ALUMNI WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM AND DISCOVER NEW WAYS TO GET INVOLVED BEYOND THEIR TIME IN WIND -- IN HSE ENGAGED.
DO WE HAVE THAT LIST? TECHNOLOGY IS STILL WORKING GREAT AND HSE, WE HAVE HAD CHALLENGES WITH THAT AS WE STARTED THE SCHOOL YEAR. THE LAST THING I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION IS TODAY, THE IVORY SCORES WERE ON EMBARGO BY THE STATE OF INDIANA. HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN SCHOOLS HAD A 96% PASSING RATE OF THIRD-GRADERS.
THAT IS 1497 STUDENTS PASSING A TEST TEST. WHEN YOU LOOK AT LARGE SCHOOL DISTRICTS ACROSS THE STATE THAT HAVE AT LEAST 1000 STUDENTS THAT HAVE A GRADE LEVEL, WE RANK NUMBER ONE ACROSS THE STATE FOR 3RD GRADE. 10 OF THE 13 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ARE AT 95% OR ABOVE PASSING RATE.
LAST YEAR, WE HAD FIVE. PROBABLY MORE IMPRESSIVE IS THE FACT THAT LAST YEAR, WE HAD EXCEPTIONAL LEARNERS IMPROVED BY 14 PERCENTAGE POINTS. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WITHOUT JUST A LOT OF SUPPORT FROM MANY PEOPLE.
FIRST AND FOREMOST, TEACHERS AND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE UTILIZING THE STRATEGIES FROM THE LITERACY CADRE AS WELL AS NIET AND FOCUSING ON THE STUDENT RESULTS IN THEIR CLASSROOMS AND THE STUDENT WORK AND COMING BACK AND MAKING CERTAIN THAT THEY HAVE AFFECTED LESSON PLANS FOR KIDS EACH AND EVERY DAY.
THIS IS THE GREATEST THING WE CAN DO FOR OURSTUDENTS, IS TO MAKE CERTAIN THEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO READ.
IF THEY DON'T GET IT RIGHT AT THAT TIME, WE KNOW THEY WILL BE STRUGGLING STUDENTS AND PROBABLY BY THE TIME THEY GET INTO HIGH SCHOOL, THEY WILL PROBABLY DROP OUT.
WE WILL HAVE AN UPDATE IN TWO WEEKS OVER ALL THE ACADEMICS AND WE WILL GET IN A LITTLE BIT DEEPER AT THAT POINT THIS IS JUST TOO GOOD NOT TO MENTION TONIGHT.
AND A LOT OF WORK BY SEVERAL PEOPLE.
HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE COMMUNITY COME TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT OUR STUDENTS AT HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN SCHOOLS HAVE THE THEY SICK LITERACY SKILLS.

WE DID NOT HAVE A JULY MEETING. AND THE FIRST MEETING AGAIN IS AUGUST 21ST AND THERE IS A NEW PRESIDENT WHO WILL BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE FOUNDATION. AND I WILL JUST GIVE A LITTLE SNIPPET THAT THE NEXT BIG EVENT FOR THE AGENCY FOUNDATION IS THE UPCOMING MUD SOCK VIP EVENT WHERE TICKETS ARE SOLD IN THE END ZONE AND IT WILL BE AT FISHERS HIGH SCHOOL THIS YEAR AND THE DATE IS SEPTEMBER 12.
