EMOTIONS . 97% FELT THAT HAVING A MENTOR IMPROVED THEIR OVERALL
[00:47:53]
SOCIAL OR EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING. 92% WATER, AND THE PROGRAM AND[00:47:56]
86% OF MATCHES WORKED TOWARD A GOAL TOGETHER, WHICH IS NEW AS[00:47:59]
OF ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO THAT NOW WE ASK MATCHES TO SET[00:48:02]
GOALS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. THAT WAY IT GIVES[00:48:04]
HIM SOMETHING TO CHECK IN ON. IT GIVES THE MENTOR, YOU KNOW,[00:48:09]
SOME MATERIAL ON DAYS THAT THE STUDENT JUST DOESN'T WANT TO[00:48:11]
OPEN UP AND IT JUST HELPS US SHOW A TRACK RECORD AS WELL.[00:48:22]
OBVIOUSLY WE ARE ALL SUPER INTERESTED IN THE IMPACT WE ARE[00:48:24]
MAKING ON THE STUDENTS. BUT, IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON OUR MENTORS AS WELL. WE OFTEN HEAR THAT IT HELPS THEM BETTER EMPHASIZE , EMPATHIZE WITH OTHERS. TO GET A SENSE OF PURPOSE. THEY FEEL THAT THEY ARE MAKING AN IMPACT AND THERE IS SOME RECIPROCAL LEARNING.OFTENTIMES WE HEAR FROM MENTORS LIKE I LEARNED MORE FROM A STUDENT IN MY STUDENT LOANS FROM ME. SO, WE LOVE THAT.
MENTORING HAS GIVEN MY SON A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL. THEN A BIT ABOUT OUR STUDENTS. THESE ARE OUR DEMOGRAPHICS. WE DO SERVE SLIGHTLY MORE MALES THAN FEMALES . OF THOSE REPORTING, 70% ARE ON FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH. YOU CAN SEE OUR RACIAL DEMOGRAPHIC BREAKDOWN. WE SHOW THIS JUST TO SAY THAT WE ARE SERVING FOR PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS, JUST LIKE OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM IS. A BIT ON STUDENT REFERRALS AND WHY STUDENTS ARE REFERRED TO OUR PROGRAM. ON THE LEFT, YOU CAN SEE WHAT YMI USED TO, ALL STUDENTS ARE COMMITTED TO OUR PROGRAM. OFTEN BY A SCHOOL COUNSELOR OR A GUARDIAN. SO, THOSE WHO, WE ARE STILL DOING MOST OF THE SAME REFERRAL ACCOMMODATIONS BUT WE HAVE TAKEN MORE OF A GROWTH MINDSET.
INSTEAD OF A SAVIOR OR POOR CHOICES, WE ARE NOW WORKING WITH STUDENTS THROUGH HARD SITUATIONS AND PROBLEM SOLVING.
SO, REALLY JUST TRYING TO WORK ON THAT POSITIVITY AND HELPING THEM SEE THEIR POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH. I LOVE THIS SLIDE RIGHT HERE BECAUSE THIS IS HOW OUR STUDENTS ASCRIBED THEMSELVES.
SO, WITH ALL STUDENTS, WE SIT DOWN AND GET TO KNOW THEM BEFORE THEY ARE MATCHED WITH A MENTOR AND THESE ARE THE WORDS
[00:50:01]
THAT WE HEAR MOST OFTEN, WHICH IS REALLY FUN. JUST A FEW PICTURES OF OUR MENTORS. RELATIONSHIP IS JUST FOR HIM AND WHERE HE IS TODAY. I'M GOING TO TURN IT OVER TO MATT NOW. MATT IS NOT ONLY A BOARD MEMBER BUT HE ALSO HAS BEEN A MENTOR OF OURS FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS. I ASKED HIM TO SHARE A LITTLE BIT OF PERSONALLY WHAT YMI MENTOR MEANS TO HIM.>> THANK YOU, BRITNEY. I THINK FOR ME, THERE IS THIS COMMON MISCONCEPTION BEFORE I GOT INVOLVED FIVE YEARS AGO AS A MENTOR THAT THE KIDS THAT NEEDED A MENTOR AND IN HSE SCHOOL DISTRICT WERE PROBLEM CHILDREN. I WAS HAVING LUNCH ONE DAY WITH A GUY WHO IS A LIFE COACH AND HE WAS TELLING ME A STORY ABOUT HIS SON, WHO HAS HIS OWN LIFE COACH AND I WAS LIKE HOLD ON A MINUTE, WHY DOES YOUR SON HAVE A LIFE COACH? YOU ARE A LIFE COACH, WHY WOULD YOU PAY SOMEBODY TO? HE SAID ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'M HIS DAD, HE DOESN'T LISTEN TO ME. AND, THAT JUST BLEW THE DOORS OPEN FOR ME AND MY UNDERSTANDING OF THESE ARE NOT PROBLEM KITS, THESE ARE ALL KIDS. EVERY KID SHOULD HAVE SOMEBODY JUST LIKE THE STUDENTS WITH THE CODING, MEETING WITH THE IMAGERY AND THE MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS . IT IS EVERYBODY. WE ALL NEED MENTORS AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THEM MAYBE NOT IN A FORMAL SETTING BUT THIS IS OUR OPPORTUNITY TO DO THAT. I THINK IT IS PAYING BIG DIVIDENDS FOR US. I THINK I THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT AS A DISTRICT BUT I THINK IT SPEAKS VOLUMES HOW MUCH THE COMMUNITY IS WILLING TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM AND MORE, THOUGH, YOUR VOCAL SUPPORT AND I KNOW IT TAKES, IT TOOK ME MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS TO FINALLY GET INVOLVED IN YMI . WHEN I FINALLY DID, THAT IS WHAT I FIND, TO GET SOMEBODY TO BECOME A MENTOR, IT TAKES MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS FROM ONE OF YOU OR TWO OF YOU OR US OR HEARING ABOUT IT. USUALLY IT IS AFTER A HALF-DOZEN TIMES THAT THEY'VE HEARD ABOUT IT BEFORE THEY SAY, YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M GOING TO JUMP INTO FEETFIRST AND DO THAT. SO, JUST THANK YOU GUYS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND EVERY THING YOU DO TO MAKE THIS
PROGRAM WHAT IT IS. THANK YOU. >> ALL RIGHT. YOU CAN SEE THE TEAM, THE BOARD HERE, THE STAFF. HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED AND SUPPORT US. ANY QUESTIONS?
>> I HAVE A COUPLE QUESTIONS. DO YOU HAVE A WAITLIST OF CHILDREN? WHAT DOES THAT NUMBER LOOK LIKE?
>> WE ALL RIGHT AT AROUND 20 TO 25 RIGHT NOW.
>> IS THERE AN AGE? TO SAY AN AGE GATE BUT WHERE YOU START ALLOWING CHILDREN TO BE A PART OF THE MENTEE PROGRAM?
>> IT IS THIRD-GRADE RIGHT NOW IN THE ANDRA SCHOOLS WE ARE IN, WE ARE ONLY IN THOSE FOUR . AND THEN WE WILL, WE WILL EXPAND TO
THE OTHER ONES. >> MY LAST QUESTION, WHAT IS YOUR GOAL FOR NEXT YEAR? OBVIOUSLY 645 FAMILIES IS AMAZING, DO YOU HAVE A GOAL FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR?
>> WE WILL SERVE, THIS SCHOOL YEAR WE WILL SERVE CLOSER TO 250 STUDENTS AND AND DESPITE THE FOLLOWING SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE CLOSER TO 300 WITH THAT, WITH THE ADDITIONAL ELEMENTARY
SCHOOLS. >> AND MY LAST QUESTION, IF YOU HAD A WISH LIST TO STRENGTHEN OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH HSE SCHOOLS OR ANY IDEAS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE ? SORRY TO PUT YOU ON THE SPOT, IF YOU HAVE ANY.
>> GREAT, OKAY. SO, LET ME START MY LIST. NO, JUST KIDDING. THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT, LIKE MATT MENTIONED IS SO CRITICALLY IMPORTANT. BUT, I THINK EVEN MORE THAN THAT, IT IS, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME SORT OF MORE FORMAL PARTNERSHIP IN MENTORING SO MAYBE, YOU KNOW, DR. THORPE WAS IN OUR VIDEO. WE BRAINSTORMED ABOUT WHAT THIS COULD LOOK LIKE.
MAYBE IT IS HOW DO SCHOOL STAFF HAVE TIME WITHIN THEIR DAY TO MENTOR A STUDENT? THAT WOULD BE REALLY NEAT AND THAT WOULD BE JUST A LOT OF A LOT OF CARING ADULTS THAT COULD SERVE AS MENTORS TO SOME OF OUR STUDENTS, WHETHER IT IS AT THEIR SCHOOL BUILDING OR A DIFFERENT ONE. IT'S A REALLY QUICK IDEA THAT I THINK WOULD BE REALLY FUN.
>> THANK YOU. >> THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO.
>> THANK YOU. >> WHEN SOMEONE DECIDES TO BE A MENTOR, WHAT DOES THAT PROCESS LOOK LIKE AND WHAT DOES THE
TRAINING LOOK LIKE? >> YES, THANK YOU. STUDENTS, EXCUSE ME, MENTORS COME TO US. WE HAVE AN INTEREST FORM ON OUR WEBSITE. THAT IS THE FIRST THING THEY FILL OUT. WE HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH THEM AND TELL THEM ABOUT OUR PROGRAM, MAKE SURE ALL THE BASICS, YOU KNOW, LINE UP WITH WHAT THEY ARE INTERESTED IN AND THAT THEY ARE COMMITTING TO BE A MENTOR. FROM THERE, WE ASKED THEM TO FILL, ALL MENTORS FELT THE GROUND SAFE VISITOR CHECK TO THE DISTRICT. IT IS KIND OF THE PROCESS THAT WE GO THROUGH THEIR THEN, THEY ARE ALL BROUGHT IN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND HALF, 60 TO 90 MINUTE TRAINING WHERE WE TALK TO THEM ABOUT WHAT MENTOR MEANS, WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE A SAFE RELATIONSHIP WITH A STUDENT, MANDATED REPORTING, HOW TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH A STUDENT WHO DOESN'T WANT TO OPEN UP WITH YOU. ALL SORTS OF THINGS LIKE THAT IS IN THAT TRAINING AND THEN THEY ARE MATCHED. WE
[00:55:03]
DO HAVE A MENTOR APPLICATION AND A STUDENT APPLICATION, WHICH ALLOWS US TO GET TO KNOW BOTH PARTIES BEFORE WE MAKE WHAT WE HOPE IS GOING TO BE A REALLY SUCCESSFUL MATCH. SO, WE TRY TO MATCH BASED ON SOME SIMILAR LIFE EXPERIENCES OR INTERESTS. THAT WAY RIGHT AWAY THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO TALKABOUT IN THEIR FIRST MEETING. >> SO, DO YOU HAVE MENTORS OR COACHES FOR THE MENTORS SO IF THEY ARE REALLY STRUGGLING TO DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP WITH A STUDENT, IT IS, WHAT DOES THAT
LOOK THE? >> WE ARE A TEAM OF NINE. IN EACH SCHOOL, WHENEVER MENTORS HAPPEN, WE HAVE A STAFF ARE THERE THAT CAN HELP FACILITATE SOME OF THOSE CONVERSATIONS.
THEY ARE CALLED CAMPUS COORDINATOR'S. ONE HAS BETWEEN ONE AND FOUR SCHOOLS. THE IMAGERY ONE HAS ALL FOUR SCHOOLS. BUT, THEY ARE THERE, LIKE I SAID, WHENEVER MENTORING IS HAPPENING. IF ANYTHING, YOU KNOW, IF SOMETHING COMES UP THAT THE STUDENT SAYS DURING A MENTORING SESSION THAT WE NEED TO DISCUSS, THEY ARE THEREFORE THAT . IF IT IS JUST A MENTOR THAT COMES TO US AT THE END OF THE MEETING AND SAYS IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS, MY STUDENT WILL NOT OPEN UP, WE HAVE SOME RESOURCES THAT CAN HELP WITH THAT. OR, WE CAN HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH THE STUDENT TO. IT MAY BE AFTER SO LONG THE STUDENT HAS TO WANT TO PARTICIPATE AS WELL. AND, SOMETIMES THEY JUST DON'T AND SO WHEN THEY DON'T, WE CAN BREAK THAT MUCH AND MAYBE A YEAR FROM NOW, THEY ARE READY TO, THEY ARE READY TO REENGAGE. WE HAVE STAFF THAT CAN HELP
WITH THAT. >> I KNOW YOU TAKE ANYBODY
WHO'S WILLING TO BE A MENTOR. >> NOT ONE.
>> RIGHT BUT THEY WILL GO THROUGH THE TRAINING AND MEET THE REQUIREMENTS. BUT, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE SEEN ONLINE BEFORE THAT THERE'S BEEN MAYBE MORE OF A DEMAND FOR MALE MENTORS,
IS THAT CORRECT? >> THERE CERTAINLY IS PEDIATRIC OF ANY GREAT SOFTBALLS. YES, THERE IS, WE DO HAVE, WE SERVE MORE MALES EVERY YEAR THAN FEMALES. MORE OF OUR RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE SCHOOLS HAPPEN TO BE MALES. WE, FROM GRADES FIVE THROUGH 12, WE MATCH MALE TO MALE, AND FEMALE.
AT THE ELECTRICAL, WE ARE MATCHING THE MENTORS WITH MALE STUDENTS, JUST AT A YOUNGER AGE, THEY ARE JUST INTERESTED IN AN ADULT TO TALK TO. SO, THERE IS A HIGHER NEED FOR MALES RIGHT NOW. IF YOU HAVE MEN IN YOUR LIFE YOU HAVE 40 MINUTES TO GIVE BACK TO A STUDENT, WE WOULD LOVE TO TALK
TO THEM. >> VERY GOOD. THANK YOU SO
MUCH. >> THANK YOU. AWESOME, THANK
YOU ALL. >> ALL RIGHT, MOVING ON TO 8.02, POLICY FIRST READ. RYAN TAYLOR.
>> GOOD EVENING. SO, WE HAVE TO PRESENT TODAY. SO, WE MET IN POLICY COMMITTEE RECENTLY AND THE FIRST , FOR YOUR ATTENTION IS THE SUPERINTENDENT QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. IT WAS VERY TIMELY, AS YOU ARE ENGAGING IN THE CURRENT SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH AND THROUGH SOME WISDOM THROUGH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE, THEY POINTED OUT THAT OUR POLICY REGARDING THOSE QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES HAD NOT BEEN REFRESHED FOR NEARLY A DECADE.
SO, THE TIME WAS RIGHT. SO, WE PEELED THAT BACK JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT WHAT WE HAVE IS STILL RELEVANT. AND, IF NOT, WHAT DO WE NEED TO ADD? HONESTLY, MOST OF IT WAS PRETTY WELL INTACT WITH ONE ADDITIONAL ITEM THAT WE DID FEEL LIKE NEEDED TO BE ADDED AND THAT IS SOMEONE THAT WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE ACCOMMODATIONS ON BOUNDARIES SINCE WE HAVE HAD A HISTORY OF REDISTRICTING AND SOME BACKGROUND OF THAT. THAT WAS THE BIG LIFT WE HAD SEEN AS WE PEELED THAT PARTICULAR ONE BACK. THEN, THE SECOND ONE THAT WE ACTUALLY, IT IS A BRAND-NEW POLICY BECAUSE WE DID NOT HAVE, IN POLICY, A POLICY REGARDING WEAPONS. I WANT YOU TO THINK WE'VE HAD THE WILD, WILD WEST OUT THERE. BUT, WE REALLY ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH STATE STATUTE . SO, IT IS VERY CLEAR IN STATE STATUTE WHAT THE DEFINITIONS OF WEAPONS ARE, FIREARMS, KNIVES, AND THE RESTRICTIONS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. SO, THAT HAS NOT CHANGED. WE HAVE ADDRESSED HISTORICALLY THROUGH OUR STUDENT HANDBOOKS, THROUGH EMPLOYMENT HANDBOOKS. WE HAVE SIGNAGE AND SUCH. WHAT WE DID LIKE THROUGH WORKING WITH OUR SAFETY TEAM WAS THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE A STATEMENT FROM THE DISTRICT REGARDING THAT. IT IS PRETTY COMMON THAT DISTRICTS AROUND THE STATE TO HAVE A STATEMENT. SO, THIS FIRST READ FOR YOU IS HONESTLY, IT IS A DRAFT OF KIND OF A REGURGITATION OF STATE STATUTE, QUITE HONESTLY AND WE ALSO BEGGED, BORROWED, AND STEAL FROM OUR NEIGHBORS AND FROM TCU. BUT, YOU HAVE IN FRONT OF YOU DOES WITH THE STATE THAT YOU DOES. IT DEFINES WHAT A FIREARM, WEAPON, KNIVES ARE. IT GOES THROUGH THEM AND TELLS YOU WHERE THEY ARE PROHIBITED AND GIVES YOU THE LAWFUL EXCEPTIONS, FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU ARE AN OFFICER. THAT IS THE QUICK OVERVIEW FROM THE WORK, FROM THE LAST POLICY COMMITTEE.
>> ANY QUESTIONS FROM BOARD NUMBERS?
>> I HAVE A QUICK QUESTION AND MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME FIND THIS FASTER THAN I AM ABLE TO. ON THE PREVIOUS DOCUMENT, IT DOES ALL THE WAY TO WX. ON THE NEW CURRENT WE GO TO WHY AND I AM
[01:00:06]
JUST TRYING TO FIND THE VARIANCE IN THAT. IT IS J?OKAY, THANK YOU. >> I HAVE JUST TWO QUESTIONS WHEN I WAS READING OVER THIS, STARTING ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THE WEAPONS ONE. SO LIKE IT SAYS WEAPON AND KNIFE IS DEFINED BY INTENT OF USE. CAN A STUDENT DECIDE IF INTENT CHANGES OR IS IT, WHO DECIDES THAT INTENT?
>> WELL, I'VE GOT OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS WORLD, UNFORTUNATELY. SO, A POCKET KNIFE FALLS OUT OF THE BOOKBAG. YOU DISCOVER IT IN CONVERSATIONS, COMMON SENSE, THAT WAS TAKEN ON A CAMPING TRIP. NO INTENT. WOULD YOU MOVE TO EXPEL A STUDENT OR DO SOMETHING OF A CAPITOL ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT? NO. WE ALSO HAVE A VERY INTENSE, THROUGH THE YEARS, WE HAVE DEVELOPED WITH THREAT ASSESSMENT TO HELP UNCOVER THOSE INTENT .
>> AGAIN, GOING BACK TO THE FIRST PART, CAN A STUDENT MAKE THAT DECISION OR IS IT JUST STAFF AUTHORITY?
>> ADULTS. YES. >> THEN, ON THE SECOND SIDE, IT SAYS DOES THE WEAPON, OR, I'M ASKING, DOES THE WEAPON PROHIBITION APPLY TO SCHOOL HOSTED CLUBS? EXAMPLE, LIKE, IF THE CROSS CLUB WAS AT CLOVER. DOES IT APPLY TO THOSE THINGS?
>> THE STATUTE HAS CARVED OUT A SECTION FOR THOSE SCHOOL CLUBS THAT MIGHT HAVE THINGS CONSIDERED TRADITIONALLY A WEAPON. THERE ARE SOME SCHOOLS IN INDIANA THAT HAVE, FOR INSTANCE, A SHOOTING CLUB SO, IF THAT IS THE CONDITION THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE PERMISSION FROM THE PRINCIPAL PRIOR TO BRINGING THAT ITEM ONTO SCHOOL PROPERTY AND DIDN'T HAVE TO BE THAT UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS FOR AFTERSCHOOL USE, CLEARLY, NOT ON CAMPUS. SO, THE STATUTE DOES CARVE OUT FOR SOME OF THOSE EXCEPTIONS AS WELL.
>> OKAY, THANK YOU FOR THAT CLARITY.
>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. >> THANK YOU .
[9. Action Items]
>> WE WILL CLOSE DISCUSSION AND MOVE ON.
>> AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, IT WAS 9.01 AND 9.02 ARE BEING TABLED. I BELIEVE IT IS 7:04. WE CAN PROCEED WITH 9.03, PUBLIC HEARING ON LEASE FOR FISHERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
KATIE DAHLING. FOUR MINUTES OFF.
>> THIS IS ALL VERY WELL-PLANNED. GOOD EVENING, AGAIN, BOARD MEMBERS. TONIGHT, WE HAVE A HEARING ON THE PROPOSED LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE FISHERS ELEMENTARY RENOVATION. SO, JUST FOR THE RECORD, THIS HEARING WAS ACTUALLY NOTICED. IT WAS PUBLISHED IN THE HAMILTON COUNTY REPORTER ON THE 19TH AND THE NOBLESVILLE TIMES ON THE 20TH. THE PROOFS OF PUBLICATION ARE ATTACHED TO BOARD DOCS AND ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW, AS FAR AS I AM AWARE, WOULD YOU SAY THAT IS CORRECT ? SO, THE LEASE ITSELF, THE DISTRICT IS FUNDING THIS PROJECT THROUGH A LEASE FINANCING. WE HAVE DONE THIS WITH PAST CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. THESE ARE, THIS METHOD IS USED BY SCHOOL CORPORATIONS ACROSS THE STATE TO BORROW FOR RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION. THE BUILDING CORPORATION WILL TECHNICALLY OWN FISHERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROPERTY AT THE TIME OF THE BOND CLOSING. THE BUILDING CORPORATION WILL THEN LEASE THE PROPERTY BACK TO THE SCHOOL CORPORATION. THE LEASE RENTAL DUE FROM THE SCHOOL CORPORATION WILL BE PAID FOR PROPERTY TAXES AND WILL BE FOR THE LEASE OF THE BUILDING DURING THE TERM OF THE LEASE. THESE ARE LIKE SERVICE PAYMENTS, THEY ARE JUST LEASE PAYMENTS. THE LEASE RENTAL WILL BE SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST AMOUNT DUE TO THE BONDHOLDERS .
MADAM PRESIDENT, IF YOU, I BELIEVE WOULD LIKE TO OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING, WE CAN DO THAT AT THIS TIME.
>> WE WILL OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE LEASE FOR FISHERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. DO I HAVE A MOTION?
>> WE HAVE A MOTION. >> DOES ANYONE HAVE PUBLIC COMMENT? HEARING ON, DO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE THIS ITEM
AS PRESENTED? >> I MOVED TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION OF AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF LEASE AND SALE OF REAL ESTATE , RESOLUTION DETERMINING NEED FOR THE PROJECT, RESOLUTION REPROVING BUILDING CORPORATION, RESOLUTION ASSIGNING CONSTRUCTION BIDS AND CONTRACTS, AND THE 14TH SUPPLEMENT TO THE MASTER CONTINUING DISCLOSURE UNDERTAKING, AS PRESENTED.
>> I SECOND. >> I WILL NOW OPEN UP FOR
DISCUSSION. >> REALLY QUICKLY FOR POINT OF CLARIFICATION, I THINK KITTY HAS FIVE SEPARATE RESOLUTIONS
[01:05:01]
AS PART OF THE SPECTRUM. WE WILL JUST VOTE ON THEM SEPARATELY . KATIE, MAYBE YOU COULD READ THE TITLE OF EACH>> WE WILL VOTE ON THEM AND MOVE FORWARD IF ANYONE HAS A
QUESTION. >> THE FIRST ONE IS AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF THE LEASE. >> OKAY.
>> I WILL CALL THE QUESTION. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, SAY AYE.
>> AYE. >> OPPOSED SAY NAY. OKAY.
KATIE. >> THANK YOU. THE SECOND IS A RESOLUTION ON THE NEED FOR THE PROJECT. I'M SURE EVERYBODY REMEMBERS US TALKING INCESSANTLY ABOUT FISHERS ELEMENTARY AND THAT NEED , ABOUT THE RENOVATION IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDING THE DEMOLITION OF EXISTING PORTIONS AND RECONSTRUCTION OF ADDITIONS THERE IN.
>> I WILL CALL THE QUESTION. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE AYE.
>> ALL AS OPPOSED SAY NAY. NUMBER THREE.
>> NEXT, MADAM PRESIDENT, IS A RESOLUTION REPROVING THE BUILDING CORPORATION. THIS IS THE HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL BUILDING CORPORATION.
>> I WILL CALL THE QUESTION. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE AYE.
THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY. GO AHEAD.
>> NEXT IS ASSIGNING THE CONSTRUCTION BIDS AND CONTRACTS. JUST TO BE CLEAR, THESE STILL GO THROUGH THE REGULAR STATE REQUIRED BID PROCESS AND THEN THAT IS DETERMINED BY THE CORPORATION PROCESS AND THEN WE ASSIGN THEM TO THE HOLDING CORPORATION BUT WE STILL CONTROL THE PROCESS.
>> I WILL CALL THE QUESTION. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE AYE.
>> THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY. NUMBER FIVE.
>> LAST, AND CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, THE RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 14TH SUPPLEMENT, TO MASTER CONTINUING DISCLOSURE UNDERTAKING AND ISSUING BONDS. THIS IS RELATED TO THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION THAT REQUIRES US TO ENTER INTO THE SUPPLEMENT BEFORE WE ISSUE THE BONDS. THIS GOVERNS REPAYMENT, ALL THE RULES AND REGULATIONS SURROUNDING IT, ESSENTIALLY, IT, NOBODY WANTS TO BE ON THEIR BAD SIDE. WE WOULD ASK YOU PLEASE CONSIDER APPROVING THIS
RESOLUTION AS WELL. >> I WILL CALL THE QUESTION.
ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SAY AYE AYE. >> AYE.
[10. Board Members]
>> THOSE OPPOSED SAY NAY. VERY GOOD.
>> THANK YOU. >> WE WILL MOVE ON TO 10.01, BOARD MEMBER REPORTS. I AM CLOSING THE PUBLIC HEARING. NOW MOVING ON TO 10.01, BOARD MEMBER REPORTS. SARAH DONSBACH.
