SO WE HAVE A FEW OF THE STAFF HERE IF THEY WILL COME FORWARD, THOSE THAT RECEIVED APP AWARD AND AS THEY COME FORWARD, JUST A FEW OF THE COMMENTS THE PRINCIPALS MADE WERE THIS PERSON IS A TEAM PLAYER WHO WORK WELL WITH PEOPLE AND BRINGS AMAZING AND POSITIVE CHANGES TO ANY SITUATION. AMAZING AT THE TALENT THAT MAKES PEOPLE WANT TO GROW PROFESSIONALLY, INTELLIGENCE UNDERSTANDING OF INDIVIDUAL AND SCHOOL NEEDS, CONCERNS AND KNOWS HOW TO FIND SOLUTIONS TO ANY SITUATION.

AND ONE OF MY FAVORITE STRONG INSTRUCTION THAT WILLAL PRACTICES AND UNIVERSAL BELIEF THAT ALL STUDENTS ARE CAPABLE, WHICH PRODUCES CHILDREN THAT READ, SO THESE ARE FROM OUR PRINCIPALS SO AT THIS TIME, THEY WILL COME FORWARD, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS I'M SURE THEY WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER.

>> FIRST OF ALL, THE CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU

[00:05:02]

FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT. I JUST -- I SAW THIS WHEN IT CAME OUT AND WAS SO PROUD THAT WE HAD SO MANY INCREDIBLE EDUCATORS ON THIS LIST, SO THANK YOU AND DO WE HAVE ANY

QUESTIONS? >> HELLO, I'M WANDA, THE I.E.

FROM HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN. >> TAB THAT BROWN FISHERS

ELEMENTARY IN TECHNOLOGY. >> I'M BREANNA DANIELS, ENGLISH TEACHER AT HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN HIGH SCHOOL.

>> AND I'M HAROLD SPOONER, I TEACH SOCIAL STUDIES AND COACH GIRLS SOCCER AT FISHERS HIGH SCHOOL.

>>> SO HOW MANY YEARS HAVE EACH OF YOU WORKED HERE AND WHAT'S IT LIKE TO WORK FOR HAMILTON SOUTHEASTERN SCHOOLS? PUTTING YOU ON THE SPOT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE US THE NUMBER OF YEARS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO.

>> I HAVE BEEN WORKING IN THE DISTRICT FOR ABOUT SEVEN YEARS BUT IN MY PRESENT POSITION FOR FIVE YEARS, I IMMIGRATED FROM THE CARIBBEAN, IT HAS BEEN A TREK FROM WARM WEATHER AND SUNSHINE EVERY DAY TO THESE VERY QUESTIONABLE WINTERS T.

I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN USED TO THAT.

I ENJOY WORKING ESPECIALLY WITH THE TEACHER THAT I WORK WITH REBECCA SCHROEDER AND WE JUST POOL OUR UNDERSTANDING AND HELP STUDENTS WHO ARE ALSO IMMIGRANTS SO I SHARE THAT EXPERIENCE AND THAT UNDERSTANDING WITH THEM. SO EVERY DAY I FEEL EMPOWERED, I FEEL THAT I ALWAYS HAVE A JOY COMING IN TO WORK AND I'M SO PROUD TO SHARE THE STAGE WITH MY REALLY HARD WORKING COLLEAGUES.

THANK YOU FOR THE RECOGNITION. >> I'M STANDING HERE TRYING TO REMEMBER, I WAS A SUB FOR A YEAR, AND I WENT TO FISHERS INJURE HIGH FOR FIVE OR SIX YEARS, I'VE BEEN IN TECHNOLOGY FOR TWO YEARS, SO I LOVE ARK HFC, MY DAUGHTER IS A JUNIOR AT FISHERS HIGH SCHOOL, HERE'S ON THE CHEER SQUAD.

SO I LOVE TECHNOLOGY, I LOVE LEARNING, IT IS SO MUCH FUN BUT I'VE LEARNED DIFFERENT AREAS SO I CAN HELP OUT WHENEVER I NEED IT. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH.

>> AND I KNOW IT'S BEEN AT LEAST EIGHT YEARS BECAUSE YOU WERE -- SHE WAS AN AMAZING SUBSTITUTE WHEN I WAS AT NEW BRITON, SO URN THERE BEFORE I GOT ON THE BOARD SO I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR NAME

ON THAT LIST. >> I JUST CAME TO HFC, I'VE LEVERED IN THE DISTRICT SINCE 2007, TAUGHT ELSEWHERE, I JUST CAME TO HFC LAST YEAR WHEN THERE WAS A TEACHER POSITION THAT NEEDED TO BE FILLED SO THIS WILL BE MY FIRST ACTUAL YEAR, AND I'M ALSO EXCEPTIONAL THAT I TAUGHT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRIMARILY, ONLY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UP UNTIL LAST YEAR WHEN STARTED TEACH HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH, BUT I LOVED IT AND I GOT MY CERTIFICATE FOR HIGH SCHOOL ALL IN THE SAIL YEAR THAT I STARTED TEACHING IT AND EVERYTHINGS HAS BEEN GLORIOUS.

I DON'T KNOW, I'M JUST -- THIS IS WHAT I'M MEANT TO DO.

LIKE, I CAN'T IMAGINE MYSELF DOING ANYTHING ELSE, SO BEING HERE, BEING ANYWHERE, LIKE, I AM --

>> WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF IT?

>> I AM A VERY MA TERM TEACHER SO GETTING TO KNOW WHAT MAYBE EACH KID TICK IS ESSENTIAL, I BELIEVE TO WATCHING THEM GROW.

LIKE WE ALL MADE THIS AMAZING CHOICE TO BE EDUCATORS SO WE

MAKE A DIFFERENCE. >>> HOW DOES THAT CHANGE BETWEEN

ELEMENTARY AND -- >> I DON'T HAVE TO PICK AS MANY PEOPLE UP ANYMORE, SO THAT'S REALLY GREAT.

>> I HAD LOWER ELEMENTARY AT THE BEGINNING OF MY CAREER SO I SETTLEMENT A LOT OF TIME WITH ONE PERSON HANGING ON ONE SIDE AND ANOTHER PERSON CRYING AND SOMEBODY HAVING TO GO TO THE BATHROOM, BUT NOW I -- WATCHING -- SEEING HOW THEY CAN BE MATURE OLDER TEENAGERS BUT STILL THOSE SAME LITTLE KIDS ON THE INSIDE IS PROBABLY THE BEST PART FOR ME BECAUSE I CAN IDENTIFY WITH BOTH PEOPLE THAT ARE THERE IN FRONT OF ME, CAN I GET TO THE CORE OF WHAT REALLY DRIVES YOU WHILE STILL RESPECTING THE TEENAGER THAT YOU ARE NOW.

[00:10:04]

SO AND I JUST REALLY LOVE WHAT I DO, I LOVE THAT I GET TO DO IT EVERY DAY, I'M THE ONLY TEACHER IN THE BUILDING THAT WILL BE SAD FOR SUMMER, MY MOTHER-IN-LAW ALSO LIVES AT MY HOUSE WITH MY TWO-YEAR-OLD AND MY TEENAGER SO PERHAPS I JUST NEED THE ESCAPE FROM MY OWN HOUSE. I DON'T KNOW, I'M BLESSED TO BE HERE AND I THINK EVERY PART OF MY DAY IS EXCEPTIONAL.

>> AND I WANT TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT MS. DANIELS, I HAD A FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT THIS YEAR AND WE WENT TO MEET THE TEACHER AND URN NOT THE TEACHER AT THAT POINT, SO MID YEAR SHE CAME HOME AND SAID WE HAVE A NEW TEACHER AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOU, HUNDRED PERCENT FAVORITE TEACHER, WE DID THE HONOR OR THE THINGS AT THE END OF THE YEAR WHERE YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR TEACHER AND GIVE A LITTLE THING THROUGH THE FOUNDATION AND SHE WROTE THAT 100 HERSELF, COULD NOT WAIT TO HAVE YOU RECEIVE IT SO YOU LEFT QUITE AN IMPRESSION ON OUR GERMAN

EXCHANGE STUDENT. >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

>> SO THIS IS MY SIXTH YEAR IN THE DISTRICT, THIS UPCOMING YEAR WILL BE MY SIXTH, 16TH YEAR OVER ALL IN EDUCATION, AND THE FIRST NAME THAT CAME TO MY MIND IS I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SHOUT-OUT TO MY FELLOW TEACHERS AND COWORK, ESPECIALLY WITHIN MY DEPARTMENT, I CAN SAY THAT THERE'S A LOT OF HUMILITY AND A LOT OF EXCELLENCE AND THEY'RE ALL OUT THERE LOOKING OUT FOR THE THE BEST INTERESTS OF MY KID ASKS THEY'RE HELPING ME GROW AS AN EDUCATOR AND WITHOUT ANY EGO OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT THEY OFFER THEIR HELP, THEY OFFER THEIR EXPERTISE AND I JUST AM REALLY THANKFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO KIND OF BE PUSHED TO BE A BETTER TEACHER, SLASH, COACH, SLASH WHATEVER MIGHT BE NEEDED SO THAT'S ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THAT CAME TO MY MIND WHEN YOU ASKED WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO TEACH IN THE DISTRICT.

I PREPARE THE PEOPLE AROUND ME AND THAT HELP ME BECOME THE BETTER VERSION OF MYSELF IN THE CLASSROOM AND ON THE FIELD.

>>> THANK YOU. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? THANK YOU AGAIN SO MUCH. CONGRATULATIONS YOU ALL JUST -- AND I'M SURE EVERYBODY ON THE LIST RADIATES YOUR LOVE OF EDUCATION AND THAT COME THROUGH AND I'M JUST SO GRATEFUL THAT YOU CAN BE ACKNOWLEDGED IN THIS WAY TOO.

SO THANK YOU AGAIN AND CONGRATULATIONS.

>>> MOVING RIGHT ALONG, PUBLIC COMMENTS? WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY SPEAKERS SIGN UP SO WE CAN SKIP THAT ONE AND

>> GOOD EVENING, WE HAVE TWO NEW STAFF MEMBERS WE'D LIKE TO

INTRODUCE. >> I'M VERY EXCITED TO INTRODUCE ERICA COLLAGENS AS OUR NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AT SOUTHEASTERN HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL AND SHE COMES WITH A BACKGROUND IN COUNSELING AND AS ADMINISTRATOR AND SO I THINK HAVING BOTH OF THOSE IS GOING TO SERVE HER QUITE WELL.

THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS SHE WAS THE CANDIDATE THAT WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH IN EACH AND EVERY ROUND AND WHAT I'VE BEEN IMPRESSED WITH SINCE SHE'S BEEN WITH US IS HER WILLINGNESS TO GET IN THERE AND HER ASSERTIVENESS TO BE HELPFUL AND TAKE ON THE TASKS TO GET THE JOB DONE, SO I LOOK FORWARD TO

WORKING WITH HER. >> CONGRATULATIONS, AND WELCOME.

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH I'M EXCITED TO BE HERE.

AND THIS EVENING I BROUGHT MY FAMILY WITH ME, MY HUSBAND --

>> YOU GUYS CAN COME UP TOO. WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU.

>> HELLO. WELL, WELCOME, AND WE'RE EXCITED TO HAVE YOU AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BACKGROUND IS GOING TO FIT REALLY WELL AT HFC AND I'M SURE YOU'LL ENJOY IT THERE COMING FROM NORTH CENTRAL, ANOTHER BIG BUILDING, SO HOPEFULLY THAT

TRANSITION WON'T BE SO HARD. >> IT'S BEEN WONDERFUL THUS FAR

SO LOOK FORWARD TO IT. >> AND SHE'S ALREADY WEARING

ROYAL BLUE. >> CHANGED YOUR RED FOR BLUE.

>> THANK YOU. >> SO ARE YOU GOING TO BE

ATTENDING -- >> SHE IS GOING TO BE A JUNIOR THIS UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR AND SHE'S GOING TO REMAIN AT NORTH CENTRAL, SHE'S A CHEERLEADER, VERY INVOLVED STUDENT SO I DON'T

WANT TO TAKE HER AWAY -- >> YEAH, THAT'S A BIG TRANSITION. WELL, WELCOME AND WELCOME TO YOUR FAMILY, THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT.

>> CONGRATULATIONS.

>> AND WE ALSO WOULD LIKE TO WHERE HE INTRODUCE BRANDON CLOUD AS OUR NEW ACADEMY DIRECTOR. AS WHO ALL KNOW BRANDON HAS A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE. HE IS EARNED HIS BACHELOR OF SCIENCE AND MASTER'S DEGREE FROM INDIANA UNIVERSITY AND A SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATION. BRANDON HAS SERVED OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR 15 YEARS HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN LAUNCHING THE ORIGINAL OFF-SITE ACT LOCATIONS AND HAS SUCCESSFULLY PLACED AND SUPERVISED OVER 600 STUDENT IN THE PART B OPPORTUNITIES OF THEIR DAY. WHICH IS THE WORK BASED CTE OR INTERNSHIP COMPONENTS, ADDITIONALLY HE HAS WORKED WITH ALONG SIDE THE STAFF IN RAISING THE GRADUATION RATE CONSECUTIVELY FOR FIVE YEARS, SO WE WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME BRANDON

IN HIS NEW ROLE. >>> AND I BROUGHT MY WIFE.

>> SO I CAN SAY THAT WHEN BRANDON AND I HAD OUR CONVERSATION ABOUT WHY HE SHOULD BE THE CANDIDATE WHO LEADS THE CHARGE, BRANDON ABSOLUTELY LOVES OUR STUDENTS.

HE WILL TURN OVER ANY ROCK, IT IS CLEAR THAT HE WANTS THEM ALL TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND I THINK OUR GRADUATES RATE FOR THE ACADEMY IN AND OF ITSELF SHOWS HOW MUCH HE CARES ABOUT OUR STUDENTS.

HE WANTS TO TURN OVER ANY ROCK TO GET OUR STUDENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND GRADUATE SO I'M GLAD THAT YOU'RE HERE, WELCOME.

>> CONGRATULATIONS, REALLY. I MEAN WE KNOW HOW DEDICATED YOU ARE. THANK YOU.

>> WE GET PICTURES REAL QUICK?

[5. Information]

[00:21:06]

. >>> AND THAT IS IT FOR THE CONSENT AGENDA, SO WE'RE GOING TO MOVE ON TO INFORMATION ITEMS,

CUSTODIAL UPDATE. >>> HI.

GOOD EVENING. I WAS ASKED TO PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON CUSTODIAL SERVICES. THIS WAS A CHALLENGING SUMMER FOR OUR CUSTODIANS AND CLEANING THE SCHOOLS.

WE HAD ONE BUILDING BEING CONSTRUCTED, THREE BUILDINGS UNDER MAJOR RENOVATION, THREE SCHOOLS HOSTING SUMMER CAMPS, SIX SCHOOLS WITH CURRICULUM AND DISTRICT RELATED ACTIVITIES AND TWO SCHOOLS WITH MINOR RENOVATIONINGS.

DURING THAT TIME WE WERE ALSO TRANSITIONING CLEANING COMPANIES. THAT BEING SAID THEY'VE STILL DONE A GREAT JOB. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU A QUICK UPDATE ON THE NEW CUSTODIAL SERVICE COMPANY, SSC, AS YOU RECALL THEY WERE APPROVED TO TAKE OVER THE CONTRACT ON JUNE 8 AND THEIR CONTRACT RUNS FROM JULY 1 OF 2022 THROUGH 6'30" OF 23. THE EXISTING CLEANING COMPANIES HAVE CONTRACTS THROUGH JULY THIRTY-ONE, SO THERE WAS ONE MONTH TRANSITION OVERLAP PERIOD. SURGEONS GENERALFC ASSUMED CLEANING RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL OF OUR BUILDINGS DURING THE MONTH OF JULY. EXISTING EMPLOYEES MOVED TO OTHER BUILDINGS AS SF CSAP CAME IN.

ALL BUILDINGS WILL BE STAFFED WITH THE EMPLOYEES COINCIDING WITH THE END OF THE OH CONTRACTS.

WE HAVE 89 OF 103 POSITIONS FILLED AND MANAGERS HAVE WORKING OPEN POSITIONS UNTIL THOSE ARE FILLED.

THE FSC TRANSITION TEAM HAS SEVEN MANAGERS HERE IN THE DISTRICT AND MORE AVAILABLE AS NEEDED, F. THEY ARE ALSO IN THE PROCESS OF HIRING THE AREA DIRECTOR AND TWO UNIT DIRECTORS.

THEY HAVE 12 INTERVIEWED SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK AND WILL CONTINUE INTERVIEWING UNTIL ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED.

THEY ARE EXPERIENCING THE PREDICTABLE CHANNELS OF STAFFING IN FISHERS WITH NO MASS TRANSIT TO THE AREA AND MORE JOBS AVAILABLE THAN JOB SEEKERS. THEY CONTINUE TO IT IS ON 100 JOB SITES SUCH AS IN DEED, LINKEDIN AND FACEBOOK, ATTENDING JOB FAIRS AND CONDUCTING ON THE SPOT INTERVIEWS AS POSSIBLE.

WITH THE LIMITED TRANSITION TIME AND SOME OF THE SCHOOLS BEING FURTHER ALONG IN THEIR SUMMER CLEANING THEY HAVE BEEN FOUNDATIONING THEIR EFFORTS IN THE SCHOOLS THAT NEED MORE ASSISTANCE AND ALSO SENTS WEEKEND COLLYING CREWS.

NEW EMPLOYEES HAVE FORMAL ORIENTATION INCLUDING SAFETY AND POLICY TRAINING AND ARE PAIRED UP WITH EXISTING EMPLOYEES OR A MANAGER TO WALK THROUGH THEIR NEW SCHOOL.

AND HEAD CUSTODIANS ARE INVOLVED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO ESTABLISH A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP. THAT'S MY SUMMARY.

QUESTIONS? >> ANY QUESTIONS? SOUNDS LIKE THINGS ARE GOING WELL.

>> THEY ARE -- >> TRANSITIONING.

>> WE'RE OPTIMISTIC. >> TRANSITION IS ALWAYS HARD.

>> YES, SUMMER IS DIFFICULT. THE ADDITIONAL ALL -- EVERYTHING GOING ON IN ALL OF THE BUILDINGS, BUT --

>> WE APPRECIATE YOU BEING HERE AND GIVING US THAT UPDATE.

[00:25:06]

>> QUICK QUESTION, DID MANY OF THE EMS EMPLOYEES MOVE OVER WITH

SFC? >> I WOULD SAY A LITTLE LESS THAN 50 PERCENT DID. WE HAD MORE OF THE ABCM

EMPLOYEES TRANSITION. >> SO I FORGOT WE HAD TWO DIFFERENT CONTRACTS SO BASICALLY THEY'RE KEEPING THE JOB THEY'RE JUST WORKING FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY, A LOT OF THEM ARE.

MORE THAN 50 PERCENT YOU THINK? >> YES.

>> THAT'S GREAT. >> THANK YOU.

>> MOVING ON WE HAVE MIGHT BE HEARING ON 5.02.

AND I WILL TEMPORARILY RECESS OUR GENERAL MEETING AND OPEN THE MEETING ON TEACHER COMPENSATION AS REQUIRED BY THE INDIANA CODE.

IN ORDER FOR OFFICIAL BARGAINING TO BEGIN.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU NEED TO ADD?

YES, PLEASE. >> SO THIS IS ONE PART OF SEVERAL LEGAL PROS WE GO THROUGH DURING PARRING THAT WE'RE REQUIRED TO HAVE BEFORE WE CAN TECHNICALLY BARGAIN OFFICIALLY, WE CAN PRE-BARGAIN BEFORE WE GET THROUGH THIS PROCESS BUT THE NECESSITY OF THIS IS TO ALLOW TOE TAKE PUBLIC TESTIMONY ON TEACH FER COMPENSATION, SO THERE ARE SOME THINGS FROM MY PERSPECTIVE THAT I BANDED TO SHARE WITH THE BOARD AND COMMUNITY AT LARGE. FOR TELL US BARGAINING IN A YEAR THAT IS WE KNOW THE BULLET FROM THE STATE BUT OBVIOUSLY, STARTING JANUARY THEY WILL BEGIN FOR THE BY ENYUM AND WHAT IS PARTICULARLY ALARMING FOR US RIGHT NOW FOR ME IS AS WE'VE SEEP GRANTS COME IN, ALLOCATIONS ARE LOWER, SO FOR EXAMPLE, WE HAVE 100 MORE INSTITUTES THAT QUALIFIED FOR E AND L SERVICES AND WE HAVE NO ADDITIONAL FUNDING BECAUSE WE'RE GETTING LESS MONEY FOR STUDENT BECAUSE THE BUDGET ALLOCATION 1 SUFFICIENT TO COVER 4,000 ADDITIONAL KIDS.

WE'VE SEEN REDUCTIONS FOR HIREABLETY, LITTLE UNSURE WHY THAT MIGHT BE BECAUSE THE FORMULAS ARE ALL A LITTLE DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON WHAT IT IS.

WE'VE SEEN SIMILAR THINGS IN SOME TITLE THREE GRANTS THAT ALSO SUPPORTS OUR N ERICSP BUT THE BIGGEST ONE PUB WOULD BE ACCESS COSTS FOR OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENT AND THE DISTRICT WILL IN CUR ADDITIONAL EXPENSES, AND I SAY THAT BECAUSE THOSE COSTS STILL HAVE TO BE PICKED UP, WE STILL HAVE TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS AND WE SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS WITH YOU ARE TEACHERS AND WHEN WE HAVE TO TAKE MORE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THINGS THEY HAVEN'T IF YOU WANTED IT LEAVES US LESS MONEY AT THE BARGAINING TABLE, SO IN MICHIGAN THIS YEAR THEY INCREASED THEIR BASE TUITION SUPPORT TO OVER $9,000, IN OUR DISTRICT IF WE HAD FUNDING LIKE THAT WE WOULD HAVE AN ADDITIONAL 62 MILLION DOLLARS AS A CORPORATION.

SO I SAY IS THAT FOR YOUR BENEFIT.

WE'RE CERTAINLY BARGAINING AND WE HAVE A ROUNDED TEAM OF DOCTOR STOKES AND HER EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TALE AS WELL AS PLEASE MADISON, ABBY WILL SPEAK TO HER TEAM AND WE'RE DOING AN INTEREST BASED PROCESS SO WE CAN BE COLLABORATIVE WITH THIS PROCESS SO WE HAVE THE BEST FOR OUR STAFF SWELL OUR CORPORATION.

>> AM I ALLOWED TO ASK A QUESTION?

>> SURE. >> I WORKED REALLY HARD THIS YEAR TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL VOICES ACROSS THE DISTRICT WERE HEARD SO I HAVE TWO HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS, ONE OF THEM BEING A FORMER COACH THAT'S GOING TO HELP ME WITH THE ECA.

I HAVE SPECIAL ED INVOLVED. I HAVE ELEMENTARY, OBVIOUSLY, PRESCHOOL. AND JUNIOR HIGH.

SORRY. I HAD TO LOOK -- SORRY, CRAIG, SO WE HAVE A REALLY WELL ROUNDED TEAM AND THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE HAPPENED SO THAT ALL THE TEACHER SO IS VOICES WERE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT, SO WE'RE VERY EXCITED TO SEE WHAT WE CAN FIND IN OUR INTERESTS.

>> BEFORE WE TAKE QUESTIONS WE HAVE TO OPEN IT UP FOR PUBLIC COMMENT, SO I WOULD ASK IF THERE'S ANYBODY FROM THE PUBLIC THAT WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK THIS MATTER.

SEEING THEN THEN I WILL CLOSE PUBLIC COMMENT.

>> KATIE YOU MADE REFERENCE TO MICHIGAN, WHERE DOES MICHIGAN

[00:30:02]

FALL IF YOU KNOW AND WHERE DOES AARP FALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY S.

MICHIGAN CONSIDERED ONE OF THE HIGHEST ONES GETTING FUNDS OR DO

YOU HAVE AN IDEA? >> I WOULD HAVE TO LOOK TO COMPARE IT STATE BY STATE, I'M LOOKING AT THE BASIC TUITION IS CLOSE TO $3,000 I THINK IS THE DIFFERENCE PER STUDENT.

SO I HAVE TO LOOK AT THE STATE FUNDING ALLOCATION BUT THEY'RE THE MOST PATROL PROXIMATE. ILLINOIS GENERALLY LEADS AND IT VARY ASKS YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THERE ARE THE DIFFERENT WAYS THAT THEY SUPPORT BEYOND THAT BUT TO HAVE A BASE SUPPORT AT THAT LEVEL IS ■SIGNIFICANT,AND IT'S MID WESTERN, AND I'M NOT SAYING WE NEED 62 ADDITIONAL MILLION DOLLARS BUT THEIR LEGISLATURE MADE THAT A PRIORITY AND FOR US THERE IS A NECESSITY TO HAVE ADDITIONAL FUNDS IF WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE

COMPETITIVE. >> THAT'S WHAT I WAS TRYING TOO GET AN IDEA OF BECAUSE YOU SAID IT'S THE BASS AND I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS SOMETHING YOU PROVIDE OR IF PUBLIC INFORMATION I GO LOOK IT UP OR -- IS THERE A WAY TO GET A CHART OR SEE WHAT THAT

IS ACROSS THE COUNTRY? >> I MAY BE IN THE TEACHER [INDISCERNIBLE] THAT THE GOVERNOR'S CAB CAB GNAT DID A

COUPLE YEARS AGO. >> AND I LOOK AT THAT AND WE ARE THE THIRD LOWEST FUNDED PER PUPIL IN THE STATE, BUT QUESTION ABOUT THE GRANT THAT IS YOU REFERRED TO, ARE THOSE STATE GRANTS OR FEDERAL GRANTS OR BOTH?

>> BOTH. ONE IS NOT TECHNICALLY A GRANT, LIKE I DON'T HAVE TO PUT IT ON OUR FEDERAL SCHEDULE AND I REPORT IT ONCE AND GOT A NAUGHTY ON MY AUDIT BUT IT VARIES.

THE ACCESS COST IS IF YOU IF YOD THROUGH THE STATE BUT TITLE THREE ENL I HAVE TO LOOK AT BUT IT'S A VARIATION.

>>> SO DID SOMETHING CHAIN WITH THE FUNDING FORMULA PER PUPIL THAT WE'RE GETTING SO MUCH LESS THAN E AND L?

>> WHAT IT WOULD APPEAR TO ME IS IT IS LOWER PER STUDENT BECAUSE THE BUDGET ALLOCATION WASN'T NOVEMBER TO SUSTAIN WHEN THEY HAD ADDITIONAL STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM.

SO IT DROVE DOWN THE PER STUDENT AMOUNT, I THINK ON A LEVEL ONE SOMEWHERE AROUND 80 TO $100 I THINK ON LEVEL TWO IT WAS MAYBE 50 BUT IT AMOUNTED TO A HUNDRED MORE STUDENTS.

>> SO THEY SAID THIS IS HOW MUCH WE'RE ALLOCATING FOR EVERY STUDENT FOR E AND L, OH SORRY YOU HAD A HUNDRED MORE KIDS MOVE

IN TWO NEED SERVICES. >> BUT WE DID FINISH WITH A

$6.1 BILLION SURPLUS. >> SO WITH A I'M READING BETWEEN THE LINES YOU WOULD PROBABLY RECOMMEND WE CONTACT OUR LEGISLATORS AS THEY GO INTO THE NEXT SESSION AS FAR AS SCHOOL

FUNDING. >> THEY'RE PRETTY FOCUSED ON OTHER THINGS BUT MY GUESS WOULD BE THE SUPERINTENDENT ASSOCIATION, SCHOOL BOARD ASSOCIATION, THERE IS SCORINGS ALREADY OF ADJUSTMENTS FROM THE SURPLUS TO ACCOUNT FOR INFLATION AND OTHER THINGS. BUT YOU KNOW SOONER WOULD BE LOVELY FOR US BECAUSE THESE ARE COSTS IS THAT WON'T BE PUT OFF AND SO WHEN WE SETTLE DOWN TO BARRING THOSE ARE THINGS THAT ARE A FACTOR AND WITHOUT HAVING WHAT I KNOW WHAT THE NEXT BULLET IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE IT HAMSTRINGS US BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO A LOT OF MONEY ON THE TABLE OR WE COULD HAVE DOPE MORE BUT WHEN YOU HAVE THOSE UNKNOWNS --

>> SO IT IS BARGAINING KIND OF WITH BLINDLY NOT KNOWING HOW MUCH IS IN THE POT. NOT BLINDLY.

>> WE DON'T EXPECT LESS IF YOU WANTING, THAT IS WHAT I WOULD SAY FOR CERTAIN BUT WE DIDN'T ANTICIPATE REDUCTIONS IN GRANTS THAT WE STILL HAVE TO SUPPORT OUR STAFF AND STUDENTS SO NOW WE

NEED TO SUSTAIN THAT ELSEWHERE. >> GOT IT.

THANK YOU. >> OKAY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND I WILL CLOSE THAT PUBLIC MEETING AND REOPEN OUR ORIGINA MEETING.

[6. Action Items]

AND THAT LEADS US TO ACTION ITEMS 6.01, I'M SORRY I DON'T

[00:35:01]

KNOW WHY I GAVELED THAT. THAT WAS NOT NECESSARY, STUDENT -- I'M NOT A JUDGE, I DON'T GET TO DO IT VERY OFTEN.

STUDENT AND ADULT MEAL PRICES AND UPDATE.

IS THAT KATIE? THAT YOU AGAIN?

OKAY. >> SO I'M HERE TONIGHT FOR MS. OGDEN, BEFORE WE HIRED HER SHE HAD A COMMITMENT THIS EVENING SO WE THOUGHT I COULD HANDLE MEAL PRICES T.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION NORMALLY WE HAVE TO DO A PAID LUNCH EQUITY CALCULATION THAT IS REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, THAT IS TO ENSURE OUR MEAL PRICES WERE MAKING ADEQUATE PROCESS TOWARD THE FEDERAL RATE OVERUSESMENT WHICH IS WELL OTHER $4 IF I RECALL CORRECTLY SO THIS YEAR THERE WAS A WAIVER ARREST THAT WAFER ALLOWED US TO MINIMIZE THOSE INCREASES, SO IN OUR CASE OF SCHOOL LUNCH FOR PRIMARY STUDENTINGS THE RATE IS THE SAME, $2.80, THE SECONDARY RATE IS INCREASING BY 5-CENTS WHICH IS TO COVER COST. THE STUDENT BREAKFAST IS INCREASING BY 15-CENTS FROM $1.25 TO A DOLLAR 40, THAT IS COMPETITIVE WITH AREA DISTRICTS AND ALSO COVERS COST AND THEN WE HAVE INCREASE OF 15-CENTS FOR THE ADULT BREAKFAST AND DIFFICULTY LUNCH. SO WE WILL ASK THAT YOU CONSIDER APPROVING THESE INCREASES FOR -- THESE LUNCH PRICES FOR THE 2022/

23 SCHOOL YEAR. >> I WOULD ENTERTAIN A MOTION.

>> MOTION TO APPROVE THE STUDENT AND ADULT MEAL PRICES AS

PEREMPTORIED. >> SECOND.

>> I HAVE A FIRST AND SECOND, ANY QUESTIONS? I WANT TO MEND IT, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A MUCH LARGER INCREASE

SO THANK YOU FOR THAT. >>> ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?

ALL RIGHT, JANET. >>> SUSAN THOMAS.

>> YES. >> SARAH PARKS-REESE.

>> YES. >> SARAH DONSBACH.

>> YES . . . >>> MOTION PASSES 7-0 AND WE HAVE MS. LIPPY WITH SIX SO I .02 POLICY ON SECOND READ.

>>> GOOD EVENING DR. EXTENSION AND BOARD, SO I PEREMPTORY TO YOU THIS CURRENT ROUND OF POLICIES FOR SECOND READER THEY ARE LISTED ON BOARD DOCKERS AND I THINK WITHOUT OPENING EACH ONE, JUST TO QUICKLY HIGHLIGHT, D -- I CAN'T READ THAT SO I NEED TO LOOK AT MY PAPER. D 04.00 WHICH IS FUNDING PROPOSALS GRAMS, SPECIAL PROJECTS WE HAD MINOR REVISIONS ENSURING THAT GOES THROUGH THE CFO FOR APPROVAL.

WE ALSO HAVE TEACHER APPRECIATION GRAMS, G 03.02.01, WE UPDATE THIS POLICY EACH YEAR. AND WE ADDED A MINOR REVISION AS DEFINED BY THE STATE AS TO HOW THEY DEFINE TEACHERS, OUR SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY, WE UPDATED THAT TO REFLECT OUR CEO JIMMY LAKE AS THE CONTACT PERSON. THERE WERE TWO POLICIES THAT HAD NO CHANGES BUT THEY WERE PRESENTED IN A BUNDLE SO IT'S IMPORTANT TO STILL HIGHLIGHT THOSE TWO, BOARD MEMBERTHICS, AND ALSO B 02.0 IT BOARD MEMBER CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

AND THEN IF YOU'LL RECALL WE HAD A LECH THEY'RE DISCUSSION BECAUSE WE WERE COMBINING SO MANY POLICY INTO ONE, SO WE HAVE B 01.00 WITH A NEW TITLE OF MEMBERSHIP AND WE HAVE COMBINED I BELIEVE EIGHT POLICIES INTO THIS SECTION.

>> I WAS GOING TO TELL YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT -- DENISE DID A GREAT JOB, THEY'RE CONNECTED FOR US SO BOARD MEMBERS IF YOU SEE THE FIRST PACKET SHE JUST WENT THROUGH, COMBINE THE ONES WE'RE COMBINING SO IT'S EASY TO READ SO THAT MIGHT BE HELPFUL AS MS. LIPPY GOES THROUGH THIS PROCESS.

SO I NOTICED THAT IT WAS DONE AND IT THE LOOK REALLY THIGHS

AND IT'S REALLY HELPFUL. >> AND THEN JUST THE FINAL POLICIES THAT WE HAVE COMBINED INTO ONE WITH A NEW TITLE BOARD GOVERNANCE AND OPERATIONS AND THIS IS B 02.00 AND WE HAVE COMBINED FIVE POLICIES IN THIS BUNDLE, SO I PRESENT THESE TWO

FOR A SECOND READ. >> [INDISCERNIBLE].

[00:40:08]

>> FIRST ONES HAVE MINOR REVISIONS.

>> THEN B 01 IT HAS THE FIRST PAGES THE PROPOSED -- LIKE THE CONTINUED POLICY AND THEN ALL THE OTHER ONES THAT ARE BEING CONSOLIDATED INTO IT BEHIND IT AND THEN THE SECOND PACK, THE B 02 HAS THE UPDATED POLICY WITH ALL THE ONES THAT ARE COMBINED

BEHIND THAT. >> LAST BOARD MEETING WE AMENDED ONE, I BELIEVE. SUZANNE, ABOUT PARENT

INVOLVEMENT, THAT ON HERE? >> WE RESCINDED THAT ONE.

WE TOOK IT OUT OF THE PACKET SO IT WASN'T BROUGHT BACK BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T MET IN POLICY COMMITTEE.

>> THANK YOU. >> AND JUST TO CLARIFY ONE MORE TIME, SO THIS HERE IS THE NEW -- AND THIS IS ALL THAT'S IN IT AND WHEN WE TOOK THESE ITEMS OUT WE PUT THE LAW TO INCLUDE THAT

LANGUAGE. >> CORRECT, SO ANYTHING THAT 1 LAID OUT AGAIN IS COVERED NO THOSE INDIANA COLD SECTIONS AND SOME OF THE OTHER ONES MAY BE REWORDED TO BE MORE FIRST TIME AND PRECISE IN HOW THEY WERE WORDED BUT YES THEY WERE ALL COMBINED IN THERE OR THEY'RE STATED IN INDIANA CODE.

>>> THIS SECTION -- THIS RIGHT HIRE ON POLICY, B TWO IN THE RED IT SAYS THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES WILL MEET AT LEAST ANNUALLY IN RETREAT? DOES THAT MEAN THAT --

>> IT'S ON THE LAST PAGE, SO IT'S -- WE'RE ADDING IT IN.

>> THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THAT.

>> YES. >> .

>> SO THEY WOULD HAVE MORE, JUST AT LEAST ONE.

>> CORRECT. >> I MOVE TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING POLICIES ON THE SECOND READ AS PRESENTED.

ALL OF THEM. >> I'LL SECOND.

>> WE WE HAVE A FIST AND A SECOND, ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? I'LL ASK JANET TO CALL FOR THE VOTE.

>> PASSES 7-0. >>> THAT'S IT FOR ACTION ITEMS

[7. Board President]

THIS EVENING. WE'RE ON TO THE BOARD PRESIDENT'S REPORT. I WANT I WANTED TO JUST THANK EVERYBODY THAT WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT TO THE RIBBON CUTTING LAST WEEK. AND FORTUNATELY I FELL ILL THE MORNING OF SO I WASN'T ABLE TO BE THERE WHICH WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTING SO IT WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED TO MISS IT BUT I SAW THE PHOTOS THAT EMILY PUT OUT ASK THE PRESS RELEASE AND IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE AND I KNOW OUR KIDS ARE GOING TO HAVE A WONDERFUL EDUCATION IN THAT BUILDING WITH THAT STAFF AND THAT TEAM, SO THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY THAT HELPED MAKE THAT BUILDING A REALITY. ACCOMPLISH. >> OR DR. KEGLY.

>> IT'S JUST AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR FAMILIES TO CONNECT WITH MAYBE FOLKS THAT ARE AT THE BUILDINGS, MAYBE IT'S THE PRINCIPALS, OTHER STAFFER THAT VOLUNTEER TO BE THERE, JUST TRY TO ENERGIZE AND HAVE A FUN KICKOFF EVENT, AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR BUILDINGS TO -- MAYBE THERE ARE COMMITTEES OR THINGS THAT WE HAVE GO ON THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THAT MAY NORMALLY GO OUT IN THE NEWSLETTER AND ASKING IF PARENTS WOULD LIKE TO BE A PART OF THOSE AND THOSE GET MISSED THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TOSS IF THEM TO GET INVOLVED THIS THE SCHOOL TO SHARE IMPORTANT DATES, CALENDAR EVENTS FOR THOSE PARTICULAR BUILDINGS WHERE PARENTS SHOW UP AND HAVE OR GUARDIANS SHOW UP AND HAVE KIDS. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE FOOD TRUCKS, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE MASCOTS AND I THINK BOTH HIGH SCHOOL BANDS ARE GOING TO BE THERE. IT'S JUST AN OPPORTUNITY AND THEN ONE OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT WE'RE GOING TO DO IS FOR THOSE THAT ATTEND WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A SURVEY, A QR CODE SURVEY THAT WE JUST WANT TO UNDERSTAND WHO'S AT THE EVENT BUT THEN ALSO UNDERSTAND ARE THERE WAYS IN WHICH WE AS A SCHOOL DISTRICT CAN -- THAT PARENTS FEEL LIKE THEY WOULD LIKE US TO MAKE THEM KNOWN ABOUT CERTAIN EVENTS OR HOW THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET INVOLVED SO IT'S JUST AN OUTREACH EVENT FOR OUR SCHOOL AND OUR COMMUNITY TO COME TOT RIGHT BEFORE WE KICK IT OFF.

>> AND IT'S IT WILL BE HOSTED AT THE FISHERS AMPHITHEATER.

[00:50:13]

>> WHAT WAS OR ORIGINAL PROJECTION?

>> I WOULD HAVE TO LOOK, I THINK IT WAS SOMEWHERE AROUND 650.

KEEP IN MIND THERE COULD BE SOME STUDENTS WHO HAVE DONE SOME TRANSFER REQUESTS OR STAYED BACK AT A HOME SCHOOL.

I THINK IS IT ONLY PLACE THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN AS POSSIBLE WOULD HAVE BEEN SOUTHEASTERN BUT THERE WERE MULTIPLE BUILDINGS AS YOU REMEMBER IMPACTED SO A LITTLE BIT OF THAT COULD BE

THAT. >> AND THEN HOW DOES SIZE OF THE KINDERGARTEN CLASS SO FAR COMPARE TO WHAT WE HAD LAST

YEAR? >> LAST YEAR START OF THE YEAR OR -- START OF THE YEAR I THINK IT IS A LITTLE LOW STILL BUT THIS IS AS OF A WEEK AGO, SO JEFF WILL RUN -- JEFF HAD THE AUDACITY TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK, SO HE'LL RUN ANOTHER UPDATE FOR US TOMORROW OR FRIDAY AND THEN YOU'LL GET AN UPDATE BUT YEAH IT IS JUST UNDER 1300, LIKE OUR FIRST GRADE IS 1500 BUT WE DID SEE GROWTH THROUGH THE YEAR ACROSS THE BOARD, SO NOTHING

THAT IS EXPO THEN LOWER. >>> AND THEN OUR DEMOGRAPHIC STUDY DID SAY WE'RE GETTING LOWER AND LOWER ENROLLMENT.

>> I LIKE THE CITIZEN TO COUNT DATE AS OUR MET RIB WHEN COMPARE SO WHAT WE'LL DO IS WE'LL PLUG IN COMPARISON ONCE WE HAVE COULD YOU TELL ME DAY IN SEPTEMBER. I DON'T WANT TO MOVE SUMMER ALONG TOO QUICKLY BUT THAT IS OUR COMPARISON DATE WHERE WE COMPARE IT AGAINST THE DEMOGRAPHIC STUDY TO SEE HOW IT PERFORMED AND DR. MCCAN I BE MCKIBBON DOES AN UPDATE BASED ON

THAT. >>> [INDISCERNIBLE]
