THE FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT IS OUR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION, MICHELLE BRITAIN WATTS.

MICHELLE COMES TO US AFTER AN EXTENSIVE CAREER AS A TEACHER AND ADMINISTRATOR IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL.

SHE'S BEEN A TEACHER OF EXCEPTION EXCEPTIONAL LEARNERS, SHE HAS EXPERIENCES WITH THE INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND MOST RECENTLY WITH THE MONROE COUNTY SCHOOL CORPORATION AS THE PRINCIPAL OF BLOOMINGTON NORTH HIGH SCHOOL.

MRS. BRITAIN WATTS SERVEDDED A TEACHER, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, CURRICULUM COORDINATOR AND BUILDING PRINCIPAL. AND WHEN I HAPPENED TO CALL HER IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR SHE HAD NOTHING BUT OUTSTANDING THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HER TIME SERVING AS THE PRINCIPAL OF BLOOMINGTON NORTH AND I KNOW THAT THEY ARE GOING TO MISS HER LEADERSHIP IN THAT DISTRICT. BOURFF CAME BACK AND MET WITH OUR CABINET AND TASKED EACH OF OUR DEPARTMENTS TO DEVELOP SOME ROUGH OUTLINES OF GOALS THAT WE MIGHT PRESENT TO HIM LAST WEEK AND THEN HE PASSED THOSE TO YOU ALL. I'M GOING TO READ EACH OF THOSE GOALS AND THEN YOU CAN HAVE AS MUCH OF A DISCUSSION AS YOU WOULD LIKE, I WOULD REMIND THE BOARD THAT AGAIN THESE ARE ROUGH IN THEIR PROGRESS, AND PROBABLY HAVE SOME MORE WORK AND DISCUSSION AROUND THEM. BUT YOUR GOALS AND YOUR TASK FOR YOUR GOALS SHOULD BE BROAD AND ALL ENCOMPASSING OF THE DISTRICT AND THE ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM HERE WILL WORK TO ESTABLISH METRICS AND OBJECTIVES AND MORES TO HELP STRATEGIZE TO ACHIEVE THOSE GOALS ONCE THEY'VE BEEN FIRMLY ACCEPTED AND ESTABLISHED.

SO FROM AN ACADEMIC SIDE ALL STUDENTS WILL DEMONSTRATE GROWTH IN ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND PRO-FIXER, FROM AN OPERATIONS ALL DIVISIONS OF HFC OPERATIONS WILL EVIDENCE EFFORTS TO EFFECT SUPPORT FOR ACADEMY SUCCESS. OKAY, WE'RE MOVING ON TO ACTION ITEMS AND 5.01 IS CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT OF FISHERS JUNIOR HIGH AND I HAVE --

I GOT BRAD FOR ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS THAT I CAN'T ANSWER, BUT THIS IS PHASE FOUR OF THE RENOVATION, THIS RENOVATION IS GOING TO ADDRESS THE LIGHTING, CARPET AND OTHER FINISHES IN THE CLASSROOMS, ALSO UPDATING THE RESTROOMS, REMODELING THE FAX ROOM AND CREATING A FIT NECESSARY CARDIO LAB, ALSO TOUCHING MANY OF THE OTHER AUXILIARY SPACES BRINGING THEM UP-TO-DATE WITH THE PHASE TWO, THREE AND ONE REMODELS. ON JUNE 16 WE RECEIVED BIDS.

WE HAD FIVE COMPANIES BID ON THE PROJECT.

THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE BIDDER WAS CPM WITH A BASE BID OF $3,369,000 WHICH IS BELOW THE ESTIMATED BUTT THAT WE WERE WORKING WITH. THERE WAS EIGHT ALTERNATIVES OR EIGHT ALTERNATE WITH THE BID. WE'RE SUGGESTING THAT WE ACCEPT SEVEN OF THE EIGHT ALTERNATES. WRINGING THE GRAND TOTAL UP TO 3,859,000-DOLLAR WITH AN ANTICIPATED COMPLETION DATE OF NOVEMBER 2022. THIS IS WITHIN THE TIME FRAME ESTABLISHED AND THIS IS WITHIN BUDGET.

CSL DELIVERED A GREAT PLAN WORKING WITH THE ADMINISTER OF TEAM OVER THERE AND THE TEACH TERSE DELIVERING PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING THEY ASKED FOR. SO I'M ASKING YOUR PERMISSION TO

APPROVE THE CONTRACT TO CPM. >> IS THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR

FOR YEARS PARENTS HAVE BEEN BEING TOLD TO MONITOR THE SCREEN TIME OF THEIR CHILDREN BUT WE'VE MOVED INTO A WORLD WHERE THE BETTER PART OF THEIR SCHOOL DAY IS SPENT ON SCREEN, MANY PARENTS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE BALANCE BETWEEN ON SCREEN LEARNING, ACTUAL BOOKS AND HANDS ON LEARNING ALSO THE USE OF BOOKS ASSISTS PARENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW MATERIALS AND BE A PART OF THEIR CHILD'S LEARNING AND ANTICIPATE WHAT MAY BE COMING UP IN CLASS.
